Earth Mandala & Fire Transmutation

An Andean despacho is a sacred act of reciprocity, an offering of prayer, beauty, and intention given back to Pachamama to restore cosmic balance.

The Deep Understanding

In Andean cosmology, health, abundance, and peace are the natural results of Ayni, right relationship and reciprocity with all of creation. When our lives feel stagnant, chaotic, or misaligned, it is often because we have fallen out of Ayni with the Earth or with spirit. A Despacho is a living, visual prayer mandala created to restore this balance, offer profound gratitude, and bring our deepest intentions into alignment with the intelligence of nature.

1

A beautiful, grounded practice of honoring Pachamama (Mother Earth).

2

Shifts the nervous system from a state of lack into a state of abundance.

3

Acts as a physical manifestation of your prayers and intentions.

4

Helps release grief, transition, and heavy energy with grace.

5

Aligns your personal energy with the natural rhythms of the cosmos.

6

Calls in protection, clarity, and harmony for the path ahead.

Ceremonial Journey Process

Guided by Andean Paqo wisdom, participants gather to build the Despacho together. We use natural elements, such as seeds, flowers, sweets, and sacred coca leaves (kintu)—each representing different aspects of life and the cosmos. Participants blow their personal prayers into the leaves before placing them into the mandala. Once the offering is complete, it is bundled with reverence and offered to a sacred fire. As the fire consumes the Despacho, the heavy energy is transmuted, and the prayers are carried upward to Spirit.

Gentle Guidance
& Common Questions

We are happy to help guide you toward the ceremony or practice that best supports where you are on your journey. We have gathered some initial guidance to help you navigate this work with safety, respect, and peace of mind. If you feel unsure, you are always welcome to reach out.

Do I need to bring anything to a Despacho ceremony?

No physical items are required. Simply bring an open heart and a clear intention of what you wish to release or call into your life.

What is a Kintu?

A kintu is a small bundle of three perfect coca leaves (or local leaves). It represents the unification of the three Andean worlds (lower, middle, upper) and serves as the vessel for your personal prayer.

Can I request a Despacho for a specific life event?

Absolutely. Despachos are highly customizable and frequently used to honor weddings, births, the passing of a loved one, or major life transitions, as well as to clear deep grief.
